NUCCA Chiropractic

The National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association or ‘NUCCA’ (pronounced ‘new-ka’) is an organization and highly specialized chiropractic technique leading the way in understanding how the upper neck can impact spinal alignment, posture, chronic pain, migraines & headaches, fluid dynamics of the brain, concussion, facial pain, neurodegenerative disease, TMJ and more.

NUCCA

What makes NUCCA special?

NUCCA recognizes the critical relationship between the upper cervical spine (neck) and the central nervous system and brain stem function. When the top vertebrae of the spine (called the Atlas) is misaligned, it can result in stress, tension and pressure on the entire nervous system. This can impact all functions of the body, from breathing, to digestion, to circulation. When left untreated, it can result in varying health conditions and chronic pain.

Through a precise but incredibly gentle technique, we ensure the Atlas is aligned, the spine is straight and balanced, and the head is centered over the neck – thus restoring balance in your body and ensuring efficient communication to the nervous system. This can alleviate stress, pain, and discomfort, allowing the body to heal and function properly.

Many patients who have tried a number of medical and alternative approaches without success find that NUCCA care provides the relief they have been seeking.

Goal of Care

Whether you’re suffering from chronic pain, or simply want to experience optimal health, we strive to help people live fuller, happier and healthier lives.

Our goal is to remove stress from the body and allow the brain and the body to communicate properly. The body is self-healing…sometimes it just needs a nudge in the right direction.

How it works

Postural assessment

Prior to beginning care and at each regular visit, your posture is evaluated and leg lengths are measured. These are signs that you have a misalignment.

Visualize the misalignment

Following postural assessment, precision x-rays are taken to confirm the misalignment, rule out other more serious conditions, and formulate a plan tailored to your body.

Correct the misalignment

Using precise positioning and a gentle, constant pressure, we are able to reposition your spine into a more ideal position.

Confirm the correction

Post adjustment x-rays provide information about how your body responded to the adjustment and whether any fine-tuning is needed.

Maintain the correction

This may be surprising, but the goal of care is to not need an adjustment. This means your body is holding the corrected position and operating efficiently.

How NUCCA can help

NUCCA is not a treatment for a specific condition. Instead, we are maximizing the body’s own ability to self-regulate and heal. The body is constantly changing and adapting based on the environment it is put in. Our goal is to make sure that process is free of nerve interference. Without stress on the nervous system, the bodies ability to heal from ANY ailment is maximized.
